SpeedCheck lets you set a speed that you want to travel at in meters per minute or kilometers per hour and then alerts you if you are going below, or above that speed. It also records your speed and distance travelled and allows you to set a start and finish location for auto Start/Finish.
Results of speed and distance can be viewed in a table or graph form.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
Latest reviews of SpeedCheck app for iPhone and iPad
Marginally functional at best
Tried this out with the idea it could be very helpful to guide conditioning work. While riding in an open field with full cell service and fully functioning GPS, as evident by mapping app, SpeedCheck failed to provide ANY speed data most of the time. Once or twice a minute, the app would make a sound and display a new current and average speed but there was never any beeping to indicate speeds above/below the set window. Attempting to open session data afterward crashed the app. Online help is useless -- no troubleshooting section or FAQ. Save your money and buy an Optimum Time watch instead. Who wants to fiddle with their cell phone on XC anyway?
Needs Update
Love the concept bit there are bugs and improvements need to beade, especially for the price of the APP.
App crashes frequently when retrieviing recorded data.
Not certain how accurate or how quick the App is providing data.
Based on some of the FREE MPH apps, it seems like all of this issues are a bit amateur?
I will hold on to the app on hopes that I get better results and that updates with fixes start arriving. This app has HUGE potential; just needs some fixes. :0)
Works great for speed but needs some bug fixes
App works great for getting an idea on your speed but when you try to look at your data it crashes so just needs little bug fixes
